CLEAR LAKE AREA PANHELLENIC ASSOCIATION
The Clear Lake Panhellenic Association has a three fold purpose:
HISTORY
Our organization was founded in 1964. The original founding members were women from different sororities with an interest in forming a service organization. The forming of the Panhellenic organization was a way for the women to become involved while promoting a common sorority purpose. PANHELLENIC OFFICERS

PANHELLENIC MEMBERSHIP
Membership in the Clear Lake Area Panhellenic Association is open to any member of the twenty-six Greek letter sororities recognized by the National Panhellenic Conference. Dues are $37 per year. SORORITY MEMBERSHIP
Our association holds sorority information meetings, formerly known as recruitment forums, each year since 1965. These events allow prospective members and their parents, along with sorority actives and alumnae, to disperse information about sorority life and answer questions. Interested young women are given rush registration packets to fill out and return for recommendations and use by college sororities. SCHOLARSHIPS
Crawford-Zbanek Scholarship
Clear Lake Area Panhellenic sponsors and funds the Crawford-Zbanek Scholarship Foundation. This foundation awards scholarships to area high school seniors and adult women who are pursuing a college education. The scholarship requirements are based on merit and need. Currently Clear Lake Area Panhellenic awards annual scholarships of $1300-$1500 to eight young women and an additional $500 continuing education grant to a ninth recipient. Bluebonnet Girls StateClear Lake Panhellenic also awards scholarships for area high school girls to attend Bluebonnet Girls State . These scholarships are awarded to high school junior girls from each of the area high schools, including Clear Lake , Clear Brook, Clear Creek and Friendswood High School . This program instructs our young women on the duties, privileges and rights of American citizenship. It also develops leadership abilities in each of the girls who attend and allows them to carry back to their own schools an increased knowledge of governmental activities and heightened ideals of American citizenship. THE PANHELLENIC CREED
We, as undergraduate members of women’s fraternities, stand for good scholarship, for guarding of good health, for maintenance of fine standards, and for serving, to the best of our ability, our college community. Cooperation for furthering fraternity life, in harmony with its possibilities, is the ideal that shall guide our fraternity activities. We, as Fraternity Women, stand for service through the development of character inspired by the close contact and deep friendship of individual fraternity and Panhellenic life. The opportunity for wide and wise human service, through mutual respect and helpfulness, is the tenet by which we strive to live. Revised by NPC in 1992 |
